Charlotte Moss Video

I recently came accross the video shown below at brightcove. It's nice for a change to put a voice to that oh so famous face! I adore this charming lady, she's comes off to me as a powerful woman with style to boot!

Here is an interesting quote from Charlotte about her Townhouse Shop while being interviewed by Stephen Drucker with House Beautiful:   "A year-round showhouse. I imagined people wandering from room to room anticipating what's next. It's about the experience. It's so much me. There are things about it that are right out of my own home. I know my customers. They like layers, they like excitement, they like beauty. And they make no bones about it. They don't make apologies for liking chintz. Or color. People have been sort of terrorized about this sort of decorating. But there are a few of us out there who've stuck with it".

With that said, I currently am not decorating the public spaces of my home with the English Country style Charlotte, Ralph Lauren and Mario Buatta are famously known for, although some bedrooms in my home will always be a mix of English Country, French Country and Paris Apartment. What separates Charlotte I think is that she is very passionate about Oriental accents unlike others. The only Oriental design I love is Chinoiserie and only on walls or fabrics. Right now I am decorating my home with a very pared down swedish and french style, I even purchased some linen drapes from my forbidden store list at
Ikea (my husband got a huge laugh out of that), but I will always appreciate and adore talented and stylish designers no matter what their personal tastes are. On a last note, I gotta say English Country and French Country will always have a special place in my heart.
